Raw Georgia Honeycomb

Size Matters

Our comb is sold by weight. Every cut is carefully reviewed for size, texture and quality before packaging. Our combs come in an attractive, transparent casings with an average honey weight between 12 and 14 ounces. Occasionally, we are forced to cut slightly smaller combs to ensure the highest quality. These may weigh between 10 and 12 ounces. These cuts, when available, are offered at a reduced price. It’s the same comb, just slightly smaller.

  • Comb servings are typically .75 cubed (three sides, each .75 “).
  • In a 12 ounce serving, there are 21 & 1/3 .75 cubed servings.
  • In a 10 ounce serving, there are 17 & 3/4 .75 cubed servings.

The beauty and convenience of getting a 4″ x 4″ brick of comb allows you to cut your comb servings with a table knife into whatever size you want. There’s no portion control here, because you never know when you’ll want more (or less).

Raw Honeycomb is Highly Nutritional

This raw edible honeycomb has zero processing, filtering or manipulation and was harvested from bee hives in North America’s most unspoiled and precious natural area: the great Okefenokee Swamp in southern Georgia.

Nature’s sweetest treat is one of the most nutrient dense foods on earth. Enjoy nature’s great energy source and immune system builder. Beeswax has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that benefit your body.

Raw honeycomb includes: calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and zinc. Honeycomb also contains vitamins A, C, B6, B12, E, and D.

Gut Health Support

The benefits come from two parts: The first is raw honey contains the highest high anti-bacterial properties when eaten straight from the honeycomb. Additionally, the bees wax provides a phenomenal source of roughage. Both parts serve as a colon cleaner of sorts as well as excellent digestive aids. With beeswax, the soft waxy cells can be chewed as gum and it’s very good for your teeth! This helps to improve the overall health and function of your digestive system by restoring the presence of good bacteria and balancing pH levels.

Comb Honey is the Sweetest of All

Raw honey, straight from the capped honeycomb, is the sweetest and healthiest honey. Honey has a more intense flavor when it comes from capped honeycomb, because the moisture level is lower and you are eating virgin honey. Built by Bees honeycombs are a bright mix of honey flavors collected from the specific areas in south Georgia where gallberry, tupelo and wildflowers are indigenous.

Once honey is extracted from comb, neighboring air increases the honey’s moisture level, and the intensity of the taste will drop. To learn more about this, please visit our honeycomb blog to become a honeycomb expert.

The entire honeycomb can be eaten including the natural honey and waxy cells surrounding it. Unfiltered and unpasteurized raw honey has a textured consistency, more than filtered honey, because no straining takes place.

Anti-Inflammatory and Prebiotic

Honeycomb’s has anti-inflammatory properties and these are helpful for sore throat and bronchitis relief. The raw honey works to reduce inflammation in the esophagus. It’s also a potent prebiotic, because it nourishes the good bacteria in our intestines, which are crucial for digestion and overall health. Free radicals can damage cells lining the digestive tract causing reflux. Raw honey helps prevent this damage by removing free radicals.
